June weather in Phuket

June is the first full month of the rainy season. Many tourists imagine that during this period everyone walks knee-deep in water, but this is an outdated stereotype rather than reality. But hotel prices really do go down, as do the number of tourists on the beaches.

🌡 Temperature

Throughout the year, the water and air temperatures in Phuket do not vary much. In June it becomes a little cooler and more comfortable than in the exhausting March and April. The air temperature stays around 30, during the rain can fall to 27, and when the sun comes out again rise to 30-32. The temperature of the water in the sea is 28-30 degrees. You won’t be freezing in Phuket 😂

☀️ Sunny and cloudy days

The average number of cloudy days in June is 12, other days are partly cloudy or sunny. Don’t forget that even through the clouds you can get sunburned, so you still need to use SPF even on the cloudiest days.

🌧 Rainfall

The average number of rainy days in June is 14. Very often the rains come suddenly and end just as suddenly, the sun comes out and in half an hour everything will be dry and there will be no sign of the rain at all. During the summer months, you should be prepared that it may rain for 3-4 days. These days can be devoted to shopping, visiting the oceanarium, water park and various shows.

🌊 Sea

In June on most beaches the sea becomes very rough, often there are red flags put up that say you can not swim. But Phuket also has beaches without waves even in low season.
