A yacht holiday is a true sea adventure. Cruises through the most picturesque locations of the Andaman Sea will leave no one indifferent.
The price of a yacht rental depends on the type of vessel, its capacity, the duration of the cruise, and what is included in the package: fuel costs, crew services, food, drinks, and more.
For example, a small catamaran with a capacity of up to 15 people costs about 24,000–134,000 THB per day, a sailing yacht for up to 10 people ranges from 31,000 to 39,900 THB, while the most luxurious yachts start from 95,000 THB per day. Speedboats are more budget-friendly: rental prices start at 22,000 THB per day, while the most exclusive models can cost around 58,000 THB per day.

The ideal season for yacht rental in Phuket is from November to April. During this period, all conditions are favorable for sailing with the wind:
- Low rainfall, comfortable humidity;
- Temperature around +28…+32°C;
- Calm sea and steady winds, northeast monsoon;
- Excellent underwater visibility – ideal for combining yachting with diving and snorkeling;
- Almost all destinations are accessible – the Similan Islands, Phi Phi, Racha, and other nearby and remote islands.

You can rent a vessel for different occasions: a journey along your own route (a private tour option), a romantic or family outing, an intimate trip with friends, or a grand party on a large yacht with a capacity of more than 50 people.
If you are planning an event, you can rent a yacht for the whole day. The maximum capacity of the vessel is indicated without accounting for overnight accommodations. For complete comfort, you can choose a luxury yacht with elegant cabins, a spacious deck (sometimes even with a cinema room), and capacity for 10–12 guests.
The set of documents required for renting a yacht in Phuket depends on the format: with a captain (crewed charter) or without a captain (bareboat).
1. Yacht Rental with a Captain (most common)
This is the most popular option for tourists – it doesn’t require any licenses, as everything is handled by a professional crew. Required documents:
- Passport (original or copy);
- Rental agreement (issued on-site or online);
- Prepayment and deposit (usually 30–50% upon booking + a security deposit on the day of departure, if required);
- Sometimes – a guest list with passport details (as required by the marine police).
2. Yacht Rental without a Captain (bareboat charter)
If you are capable of sailing the yacht yourself, you will need documents confirming your qualifications.
- Passport;
- International yacht license (one of the following):
- ○ ICC (International Certificate of Competence);
- ○ RYA Day Skipper or higher;
- ○ IYT Bareboat Skipper;
- ○ Or another recognized yachting qualification.
- Captain’s logbook/resume (showing experience, routes, vessel types);
- Crew list (names of everyone on board);
- Marine insurance (often included in the rental, but optional add-ons are available);
- Security deposit – from $1,000 to $3,000 USD, refundable upon return of the yacht without damage;
- Some charter companies require at least 3–5 verified sailing trips on similar vessels.
