Weather forecast for the next few days
Phuket is experiencing heavy rainfall. It is expected that the coming week will set a record for the amount of precipitation.
According to the forecast from Thailand’s Meteorological Department, from September 15 to 24, daily rainfall will range from 50 to 100 mm.
A sharp increase in rainfall is expected from September 18 to 20, with nearly a month’s worth of precipitation expected in just three days.
Additionally, very strong winds are blowing. Winds are expected from September 15-17 with gusts ranging from 10 to 17 m/s, and from September 18-20, gusts between 12 to 18 m/s 💨.
Meteorologists predict especially heavy rainfall in the provinces of Phuket, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, and Satun.
In some areas of the island, the situation is already quite concerning: water levels are very high, and there are risks of landslides, similar to the recent tragedy near the Big Buddha.
Waves may reach up to 3 meters in height. It is highly advised to stay away from the water!
Weather conditions are expected to improve only by September 21-22.
Please be extremely careful and take care of yourselves!
