Weather Forecast for Phuket for the Coming Days
Phuket is experiencing heavy rainfall. It is expected that the coming week will set a record for the amount of precipitation.
According to the forecast of the Thai Meteorological Department, from 15 to 24 September 2024, daily rainfall will range from 50 to 100 mm.
A sharp increase in rainfall is expected from 18–20 September 2024. Nearly a month’s worth of rain will fall within these three days.
In addition, very strong winds are expected. From 15.09.24 to 17.09.24, wind gusts will reach 10–17 m/s. From 18.09.24 to 20.09.24, gusts will increase to 12–18 m/s 💨
Meteorologists predict especially heavy rainfall in the provinces of Phuket, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, and Satun.
In some areas of the island, the situation is already quite concerning: water levels are very high, and there are risks of landslides, similar to the recent tragedy near the Big Buddha.
Wave heights can reach up to 3 meters, so the sea in Phuket during these days is extremely dangerous, and it is not recommended to stay near the water.
Weather conditions are expected to improve only around 21–22 September 2024.
Please be extremely careful and take care of yourselves!
