Weather in Phuket in AUGUST

The weather on the island is unpredictable during the low season, and August is no exception. Here’s what to expect in Phuket this month ⬇️

☔️ Rainfall

About 16 days in August will be rainy. These are usually heavy showers, but they end quickly. It’s best to come for a longer period during the low season to experience both the bright sun and tropical rain (we have many locations in our posts that you can visit during the rain).

🌡 Air Temperature

On average, it’s around 31°C during the day and 25°C at night. There’s often a breeze in August, which can help cool the air a bit.

☀️ Sunny/Cloudy Days

On average, there are 14 cloudy days, 11 partly cloudy days, and 5 sunny days in August. Even without direct sunlight, you can still get a tan or even a sunburn, so don’t forget to use SPF!

🌊 Sea

The water temperature is around 29°C, but in August, swimming is unsafe on most major beaches due to large waves and rip currents. But there are locations with calm seas, which are easily accessible by taxi, bike, or car.

As we mentioned earlier, the low season is one of the best times to visit Phuket. With comfortable temperatures, fairly mild sun, and refreshing tropical showers, this weather showcases all the facets of the paradise island 🏝
