Weather in Phuket in July

July marks the peak of the low season. This month has a fair number of cloudy days and tropical rains, but it is always warm, and nature comes alive with lush greenery.

🌡 Temperature

The average daytime temperature is 30.2°C, while at night it is 27.8°C. The average water temperature is 29.6°C. The weather is very warm, although there are days when it becomes slightly cooler and more comfortable for walking.

☀️ Sunny and Cloudy Days

On average, there are 14 cloudy days, 12 partly cloudy days, and 5 sunny days in July. The scenery might not always resemble the idealistic Instagram pictures, but there is another opportunity — to enjoy the sea on the beach without the crowds of tourists. You will still find time to sunbathe.

🌧 Rain

On average, there are 15 rainy days in July. We recommend staying for at least two weeks to experience both sunny days and the tropical rain. During this period, it can rain for 2-4 days in a row with short breaks. Plan ahead for what you will do during the rain. You can visit Phuket’s shopping malls, go on a gastronomic journey through the island’s unusual restaurants, or simply walk along a beach in the rain.

🌊 Sea

In July, waves rise on almost all major beaches, and rip currents often form. If you are coming exclusively for a beach holiday, choose areas like Panwa, Naiyang, and the cape in the southern part of Patong, where there are beaches without waves. Even if you choose another resort, almost every hotel has pools that are comfortable to swim in, even in the rain.

Phuket is warm year-round; the key is your positive attitude and the right choice of places to visit.
