ED Plus Visa

The University Visa in Thailand (NON-ED Plus) is issued to foreign students enrolling in undergraduate or higher-level programs at universities. Its distinction from a standard student visa lies in the fact that its holder does not need to obtain additional re-entry permits to leave and re-enter the country.

Additionally, the educational institution can extend the visa on behalf of the student, simplifying the process of prolonging their stay in Thailand.

Validity: The visa is typically issued for 12 to 15 months. Upon completing their studies, holders may have the option to extend their stay by applying to the immigration office.

Requirements. To apply for this visa, at a minimum, you need:

  1. A completed application form.
  2. A passport issued at least six months prior to the application.
  3. An invitation letter from the university confirming enrollment.
  4. Financial documents proving solvency, especially if a family member is the sponsor.

Processing Time: The process may take approximately 1.5 months.

After completing their studies, holders of the University Visa may remain in the country for an additional year, allowing time to seek employment or transition to a work visa.

This type of visa may be granted to individuals who:

  • Are coming for educational purposes.
  • Are employees sent by a company for educational purposes.
  • Are participating in projects, seminars, conferences, or training courses.
  • Are studying as foreign Buddhist monks.
