Eagle Ray Restaurant is located at the new Kora Hotel in the Bang Tao area of Phuket and operates as a full-service restaurant as well as a pool bar. The space is calm and unhurried, with a modern “hotel-style” presentation and a neat, almost intimate atmosphere — especially in the evenings, when there are fewer guests.
The main interior highlight is a huge wall-to-wall aquarium visible from the dining area, making dinner more visually impressive and turning the wait for food into a form of entertainment for families with children. In the morning, a buffet breakfast is served with a wide and varied selection.
The menu combines Thai and European cuisine. The strong point is Thai dishes and seafood: pad thai and curries are particularly well executed (including rich options such as panang curry with beef ribs), and there is an impressive large seafood platter. Among the more unusual items are “beef sushi” and rolls, which can be prepared to individual request. Desserts stand out for their flavor and generous portions; serving sizes are large. Dinner promotions and discounts are sometimes available, making the bill more pleasant.
Service is attentive and caring: the staff quickly understand guests’ preferences and help with recommendations. The pool bar serves high-quality cocktails and maintains a relaxed atmosphere with unobtrusive music.
