Rock Salt Restaurant sits right on the waterfront as part of The Nai Harn hotel complex. The main reason to come here is the panoramic view over Nai Harn Beach: the tables are positioned so the sea stays in sight whether you’re having breakfast or dinner. Late afternoon is an especially good time to linger with a glass of wine or a beer — there’s a drinks promotion from 5:00 pm.
The menu focuses on Thai cooking and seafood. The restaurant does particularly well with tom yum and tom kha (the latter can be made on request even if it isn’t listed), along with mussels, tiger prawns, and sea bass. Breakfast comes in set options with bread and coffee, and there’s also a “coffee + pastry” combo. The croissants and coffee are consistently strong, and desserts like the Peanut Butter Cup — or the Reese’s-style version — are truly memorable.
For a more special occasion, head upstairs to PRIME on the second level: a fine-dining venue offering steaks cooked across several wood-fired stations, a robust wine list, and spot-on pairing recommendations.
Prices are on the higher side. Service is polite and attentive, though the pace can be unhurried.
