Many Thais try to speak English. In hotels and good restaurants, the language proficiency is slightly better than in other places. Russian is spoken a little only in the most touristy areas, and even then, not always. To avoid misunderstandings, consider using an online translator in advance — it will help you communicate more easily if you don’t speak English.
