Black Pearl Art & Bar is a cozy reggae bar perched on a hillside above Kata Noi, tucked away from the traffic and noise of the main road. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind — lounging on bamboo platforms with cushions, listening to a mellow playlist, and soaking up a friendly, genuinely homey atmosphere without the usual bustle.

The main reason to make the climb is the panoramic sunset over Kata Noi Beach. The viewpoint feels higher and more open than the popular lookouts, so there’s a stronger sense of space and calm. After dark, the bar becomes even more striking: it’s filled with small decorative touches, interesting details, and unexpected angles — and now and then, large fruit bats glide overhead.

The décor leans into a creative Rasta vibe, and one of the venue’s standout features is a pirate-ship-shaped bar. Drinks are reasonably priced, with cocktails and beer, Thai rum, coconut-based drinks, and smoothies — don’t miss the signature Black Pearl cocktail. Food is available too, though the menu is short and portions are on the smaller side: think snacks like wings with fries, tom yum, and simple Thai staples. There’s darts for groups, and beer sometimes comes with a small complimentary bowl of nuts.
