Canopy Tree Bar is a hotel bar in Kata on the grounds of Novotel Kata Avista — ideal for a quiet evening without the bustle. It’s designed as a cosy open-air bar where it’s natural to linger — whether you’re winding down after the beach, catching up over unhurried conversation, or stopping in for a late cocktail after a walk.

The bar’s strongest point is its cocktail list and presentation. Drinks are mixed with real care and attention to detail, ranging from bold classics like an espresso martini to house tiki creations (such as the Canopy Grog) that taste clean and well-structured, with each ingredient clearly coming through. Beyond cocktails, you’ll also find draft beer, wine, whisky, and a more premium selection, including Woodford Reserve bourbon.

There’s plenty to eat as well: pizza, lobster rolls, curries (the lamb rogan josh is a standout), poke bowls, fish tacos, wagyu sliders, and mango sticky rice for dessert. Service is another highlight — friendly, tactful, and genuinely engaged, with staff happy to guide you through the menu while keeping the mood relaxed. That said, prices can feel a touch high for the portion sizes, a few dishes may arrive not quite hot enough, and the cocktails lean more toward a smooth, resort-style strength rather than a heavy pour.
