BRAUHAUS in Rawai is a place where authentic Bavarian food truly feels homemade: hearty comfort dishes, well-balanced seasoning, neat plating, and noticeably high-quality ingredients. The kitchen confidently turns out classics like Wiener schnitzel with potato salad, cordon bleu, pork knuckle, beef goulash with spätzle, käsespätzle, Tafelspitz, and currywurst. For dessert, apple strudel and cheesecake are popular choices. The pumpkin soup topped with pumpkin seeds is also well worth trying.
At the bar you’ll find fresh beer on tap, including Hofbräuhaus, along with more than just the usual “standard” options. The drinks pair especially well with the meat dishes and appetizers. Portions are generous, so it’s best to order thoughtfully.
The dining room is kept clean, and the service is warm and attentive: the staff are happy to help you choose, and the chef/owner often comes out to check that everything is to your liking. For convenience, the menu may be shown on an iPad with photos.
You can also take home house-made sausages and deli items — there’s a chilled display where you can pick up meat and sausage products to go. Thai dishes are available as well if you’re in the mood for variety.
The interior is fairly understated, without much extra décor. During busy hours, hot dishes can take a bit longer.
