Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa sits on a hillside at the quieter end of Patong. The beach and the sea are just across the road, while Patong’s busy streets, markets, and restaurants are close enough to reach on foot or in a quick tuk-tuk/Grab ride. Thanks to its elevated setting, the resort offers impressive views — especially from ocean-view rooms with spacious balconies.

Rooms are generously sized and well equipped with essentials such as bottled water, a tea/coffee setup, and bathrobes and slippers. Some categories include a jacuzzi; beds are comfortable and showers are well designed. Housekeeping is daily and thorough, and the staff respond quickly to requests — even when issues come up late at night. A few drawbacks: air conditioners can be noisy, and some rooms feel more classic in style rather than ultra-modern.

The grounds are large, lush, and beautifully landscaped, but the terrain is a defining feature: expect plenty of steps and uphill paths, and there are no elevators. A resort shuttle helps guests move between key areas and runs on a regular schedule, with limited services toward Patong at specific times. For guests with limited mobility, the layout may be challenging despite the presence of ramps.

One of the resort’s highlights is its two spacious pool areas, including a striking pool with a waterfall and waterslide. There’s also a spa, a gym, kids’ activities, and a program of scheduled events (including shows). Breakfast is varied and comes with a great view: made-to-order stations, a wide mix of European and Asian options, and a dedicated halal section. A nice extra is the on-site fruit stand, plus a voucher for 1 kg of tropical fruit. If you’re considering an all-inclusive plan, it’s worth confirming in advance exactly what’s included and which bars and restaurants are covered.
