Mai Khao Beach is one of the longest on the island, stretching almost 11 kilometers along the northwestern coast of Phuket and is part of Sirinat National Park. As this is a protected area, there are no organized water activities here, but you can go snorkeling.
Most people know Mai Khao as a place where you can watch planes coming in for landing at very low altitudes. This is what many people come here for, and the sight and sensation are truly unforgettable. You definitely won’t leave without spectacular photos.
At Mai Khao, you can also witness a fascinating natural phenomenon: giant turtles sometimes come ashore to lay their eggs.
This beach is not suitable for vacationing with children, as there can be strong currents in some places, and the water entry is very steep in spots. The beach has minimal infrastructure, with only a few small cafes.
