Mission Hospital Phuket is a compact hospital in Phuket with a newer wing and clear, easy-to-follow wayfinding. The premises are clean and well kept, and patients are seen by dedicated units — adult care, pediatrics, and specialist clinics (ENT and gynecology). The hospital also has an ICU. There’s a snack bar on site.
One of its main strengths is diagnostics. The hospital offers blood tests, ECG, chest X‑ray, and ultrasound scans (including vascular ultrasound of the lower limbs), as well as rapid flu tests and assessments aimed at ruling out pneumonia. In the gynecology department, consultations and ultrasound exams are carried out with thorough explanations. Procedures under anesthesia are also available, and the team’s attention to detail and careful approach stand out.
The pediatric department is set up for quick evaluation, with some test results ready in about 30 minutes. Waiting is easier for children thanks to a dedicated space where they can stay occupied. For international patients, interpreter support is available: communication in English, along with assistance from a Russian-speaking staff member, makes the visit smoother and helps with insurance-related paperwork.
During busy periods, waiting times can become lengthy. At night in the emergency intake area and during scheduled appointments, queues may last for hours and appointments can run significantly behind. Phone support is inconsistent, so reaching the hospital and confirming schedules may take extra time. Service at some counters and at the pharmacy window can feel abrupt, and dispensing medications may be slow. Costs can be substantial without insurance: each test and medication is billed separately, so requesting itemized invoices is important for later insurance claims.
