Monkey Hill is a hill located near Phuket Town, known for the large number of monkeys that inhabit it, which are not afraid of humans and fearlessly take food from them. The hill is equipped with three observation decks, the highest of which deserves special attention for its excellent view.
You can drive to a certain point, and then continue the ascent on foot. The climb is not difficult. Entrance is free, and sticks are provided at the entrance to fend off the animals. There is a kids playground on the territory.
The main feature of this place is the large population of monkeys. Therefore, when visiting, it is important to know and follow safety rules to avoid provoking the animals. Avoid wearing items that may attract their attention—backpacks with many interesting elements, children’s toys, cameras, and bags of food—as these are things that can interest the playful creatures. It is advisable not to smile at the monkeys, as they see your teeth as a sign of aggression. Also, do not run or shout, as this may be perceived as a threat. Remember, you are visiting the monkeys’ home, so stay calm and confident. If you decide to feed them, do so sparingly, as you will encounter many individuals along your way. Dogs can also be found here, so bring some food for them, as it is not available for purchase here.
