Phuket Sports and Tennis Club is a small, low-key venue for active leisure in Phuket, with well-kept grounds and a calm, relaxed atmosphere. The club features a clay tennis court — not brand-new, but maintained in good condition and suitable for both matches and practice. There’s also a practice wall and a separate volleyball court.
The club is open Monday through Saturday, and court time is available by advance booking. During peak hours, priority may be given to players who confirm their reservation in person by paying on-site, so it’s best to secure any phone arrangements in advance and reconfirm the details before you come.
Court rental starts at 300 THB per hour before 3:00 PM and 400 THB per hour after 3:00 PM. If you don’t have your own gear, you can rent rackets for around 50 THB — the selection is limited, but it covers basic needs.
The grounds are kept tidy and the staff are generally friendly, although their communication style can be fairly direct. One important note for training: you can’t bring your own coach — lessons are only available with the club’s local coach, whose English is somewhat limited.
Getting there can be a bit tricky: the approach roads are narrow and packed with speed bumps, so it’s worth allowing extra travel time.
