Pleasure Dome Bar Rawai
Pleasure Dome Bar Rawai is a laid-back, atmospheric bar in the south of Phuket, in the Rawai area. It’s slightly tucked away from the busiest streets, but easy to find — and once you step inside, the vibe is clear right away: friendly, lively in a comfortable way, and never pushy.
The bar is run by a German owner, Klaus (from Hamburg), together with his wife. That gives the place a true “locals’ bar” feel: they chat with guests, help you choose drinks, and create a sense of being welcomed rather than processed. The women behind the bar are warm and attentive. The staff’s English isn’t always perfect, but it rarely gets in the way.
One of the biggest draws here is the cocktail list paired with sensible prices. You’ll find all the reliable classics — ice-cold beer, Chang, Jägermeister — along with well-made mixes like a solid Long Island Iced Tea. Food is available too, and in the evenings the atmosphere often ramps up with music and live performances.
If you’re in the mood for a more active night out, there’s football on the screens and a pool table — easy to settle in for a couple of hours and let the evening build naturally. It works well for groups, and it’s also family-friendly: there’s enough space for kids to move around instead of having to sit perfectly still.
