Stammtisch German Food Restaurant is a cozy spot in the Rawai–Nai Harn area of Phuket, tucked away in a small lane on the road to Nai Harn Beach. The setup is simple and homey: open-air seating with no air conditioning, so it’s most comfortable to visit in the evening.
The menu combines German and Thai cuisine — from schnitzels, goulash, and hearty meat dishes served with potatoes (mashed, boiled, or baked) to well-executed Thai favorites like Pad Thai. If you ask, the kitchen can prepare dishes without spicy ingredients. Sides often include cabbage and potato salad, and portions are filling with no skimping on ingredients.
The restaurant’s signature is its huge servings. Items like the “Mega Schnitzel,” the Nuremberg platter, and various meat and pork dishes can easily replace a full meal, and breakfast can turn into lunch. Some dishes — such as the pork knuckle — are best ordered in advance (ideally a day ahead).
Drinks are taken seriously, too: there’s a solid selection of bottled and draft beers, including Tiger. Happy hour runs from 15:00 to 18:00, with draft beer priced at 50 THB.
Service is friendly and attentive, and the staff are usually happy to accommodate requests. A few things to keep in mind: occasional delays can happen, some dishes may taste a bit salty or feel heavy, and it’s worth being cautious with raw items such as tartare.
