Tourists don’t know about it yet, but athletes do – they often hike up here.
Surprisingly, it’s located in a pretty obvious spot – on Big Buddha Hill. Since August 2024, access to the statue has been closed due to a landslide, but a stunning new viewpoint was set up at the base.
Just look at that view! Half the island at a glance: the sea, Karon Beach, the mountains, and Chalong area.
You can snap some unique, off-the-beaten-path shots and grab a drink at a small local cafe.
Getting there is easy: drive up to the statue, and right before the “No Entry” sign, turn left into the parking lot. You’ve arrived!
