Rawai – Pros and Cons
Why don’t tour operators ever offer you this area of Phuket?
Rawai – weighing its Pros and Cons.
The biggest downside is the sea. Rawai Beach is located in a bay on the east coast, where fishing and tourist boats often anchor. The water here isn’t the cleanest.
But there’s a solution: you can rent a boat right on the beach and, in just 15 minutes, reach a nearby island with crystal-clear turquoise water and white sand. Or you can go on a deep-sea fishing trip. And if you prefer staying on Phuket, two fantastic beaches — Nai Harn and Ya Nui — are just a short drive away from Rawai.
Rawai is a fascinating area. It’s home to some of the island’s best viewpoints, such as Promthep Cape and Windmill Viewpoint.
Another unique attraction is the Sea Gypsy Village, which guarantees that the local market always has the freshest seafood.
And let’s not forget Rawai’s well-developed infrastructure — shopping malls, cafes, and restaurants that don’t just cater to fleeting tourists but actually focus on quality and service.
