Weather in Phuket in April

This is your last chance to catch the tail end of the dry season before the rains begin.

Just a reminder: the seasons in Phuket don’t align with those in Europe. There are only two seasons here – dry and wet – and the change between them is usually quite sudden. So even though April is the final month before the wet season, it’s still one of the sunniest and warmest.

🌡 Air Temperature. Average temperatures range from +27.5°C at night to +31°C during the day. April is considered a hot month.

☔️ Rainfall. Rain is possible, but usually brief. Expect around 9 rainy days in total. The monthly rainfall is similar to December – about 125 mm.

🌥 Sunny/Cloudy Days. Roughly half the month will be sunny, while the rest may be cloudy or partly cloudy.

🌊 Sea. Calm and very warm, with an average water temperature of +31°C.

April is a great time to visit Phuket. All tours, beach activities, and water sports are available.

Plus, April brings one of Thailand’s biggest celebrations – Songkran, the Thai New Year. This year it will be held from April 13 to 15. It’s a fun, vibrant, and unique time when everyone splashes water on each other – with water guns, buckets, hoses, even fire hoses… anything goes!
