Question

Do children need to fill out a separate arrival card when entering Thailand?

Insider's Response

You are probably referring to the new TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) – the digital migration card that must be completed before flying to Thailand. It is the digital equivalent of the paper TM6 card.

The card must be filled out online within 3 days before crossing the border. It is also possible to do it on the day of departure, but it is better to complete it in advance in a calm environment.

You need to go to the website https://tdac.immigration.go.th/ and provide personal data, the purpose of the visit, and travel information (hotel address, flight number). Next, you need to complete the “Health Declaration” section – information about countries you have visited in the last 2 weeks, symptoms, and vaccinations if you had any. After that, a QR code will be sent to your email, which you can show directly from your smartphone at border control.

As for children, there are several options. Until the age of 14, a child may enter the country under the entry in the parent’s five-year international passport. In this case, it is not necessary to fill out a separate TDAC. If the child has their own international passport, you first need to fill out the card for the parent, then select the “add tourist” function and complete one for the child.

After the age of 14, a child may only enter the country with their own passport. In this case, a separate TDAC must be completed.
