Do people ride bicycles in Phuket? How convenient is it?

Bicycles are not the most popular mode of transportation in Phuket. The climate is hot, the terrain is hilly, and there are no dedicated bike lanes.

For a bike ride around the island, it’s better to choose specially equipped places. The Laguna area is ideal, with bike paths around lakes and lush green spaces. You can also cycle through Sirinat National Park. Some hotel grounds, like JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, are also suitable for a relaxed bike ride.

Motorbikes are far more popular in Phuket than bicycles. No pedaling required, but you’ll need an international driver’s license (category A) and a bit of nerve to adapt to the local driving style.
