Question

Is Catholic Christmas celebrated in Phuket?

Insider's Response

Even though Thailand is predominantly a Buddhist country, tourism has gradually introduced Christmas into Phuket’s festive calendar. Hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls decorate their spaces with holiday decorations and organize themed dinners, concerts, and parties. From mid-December, the island noticeably transforms with Christmas and New Year decorations.

While Christmas in Phuket is mainly tourist- and resort-oriented, religious services are also held. They are conducted in English, which makes them convenient for foreign visitors.
