Is Catholic Christmas celebrated in Phuket?
Insider's Response
Even though Thailand is predominantly a Buddhist country, tourism has gradually introduced Christmas into Phuket’s festive calendar. Hotels, restaurants and shopping malls adorn interiors with festive decorations, hosting themed dinners and concerts. From mid-December, the island noticeably transforms with Christmas and New Year decorations.
While Christmas in Phuket is mainly tourist- and resort-oriented, religious services are also held. They are conducted in English, which makes them convenient for foreign visitors.
