Question

What’s the Weather Like in Phuket in October? Is It Still Low Season or Is the Sea Already Calming Down?

Insider's Response

By October, you can start to relax — it’s the end of the low season, although rain is still possible. Wind speeds gradually decrease, the sea becomes calmer, and more days are suitable for swimming. That said, we know which beaches are swimmable all year round — check out our article: Beaches Without Waves During Low Season.

Don’t be afraid of Phuket in the low season — it has its perks:

  • The air is always warm — you definitely won’t be cold
  • Vacation costs drop by up to 50% (accommodation, entertainment, tours)
  • Lower risk of sunburn (though we still recommend using SPF!)

Phuket is beautiful any time of year — you just need to know what to do and where to go. We’ve collected the best ideas for things to do in bad weather in this article.
