When does the season end in Phuket?
Insider's Response
Indeed, the year in Phuket is usually divided into the high and low seasons. The low season lasts from May to October, when the island comes under the influence of the southwest monsoon. This brings variable weather, short but heavy rains, high waves, and rip currents. But don’t be discouraged! Most of the rain falls at night, and even if it rains during the day, the weather quickly clears up. Plus, there are fewer tourists during this time, and prices are much more attractive. Swimming is still possible — just stick to wave-free beaches. We’ve put together ideas for things to do in bad weather in the article Things to Do in Phuket on a Rainy Day.
If you’re wondering when the season ends in Phuket, the short answer is: in May. We covered this in more detail in the article Phuket Weather by Month. Of course, we’re not meteorologists, and the weather has become quite unpredictable lately, so we recommend checking the accurate forecast using the Windy app. You can find more useful tools in our Must-Have Apps section.
The rain gradually subsides in October, and the high season begins in November, bringing comfortable weather without sudden changes: clear skies, dry air, and calm, welcoming seas. This is the best time for beach holidays, snorkeling, and diving in tranquil waters. Check out our guides Where to Snorkel in Phuket and Best Diving Spots in Phuket.
