Where can you go for a run in Phuket?
Insider's Response
There are places in Phuket where you can go for a run not under the scorching sun, but in the shade. We’ve collected some of them in the Walkways section.
Beaches
If you plan to run early in the morning or after sunset, the beaches are a good choice. The best options are Mai Khao, Bang Tao, or Karon.
Parks
Karon Park, Kata Beach Community, Ban Nai Han Park, the Saphan Hin mangrove walkway, and Rama IX Park. Some parks even have dedicated running tracks.
Other running locations
There’s an entire network of paths around the lakes. You can plan a long route with changing scenery, combining nature with urban views.

A few tips:
● Choose early morning or sunset — even at 9 AM it’s already too late, the sun is brutally hot.
● Bring water if there are no supermarkets nearby.
● Use sunscreen (SPF).
● Be careful on the roads: there are few sidewalks in Phuket and scooters move fast.
● After your run, have some coconut water or an isotonic drink (sold at 7-Eleven) — the best way to recover.
