Where in Phuket can lost or stolen items be officially registered?
Insider's Response
If your belongings were stolen in Phuket, you can take the following measures:
Contact the Tourist Police (phone number – 1155) or the nearest state police station (phone number – 191, in emergency cases). They can help you file a report and issue a document that may be required by your insurance company.
In case of lost items, you should contact the place where you presumably could have left them:
● At the airport or on the airplane:
o If the item was forgotten on the airplane, you should contact the airline as soon as possible.
o If the loss occurred on the airport premises, contact the information desk or the Lost & Found office. Describe the item, the flight, and the time in detail. You can also submit an online request through the official website of Phuket Airport (website link: )
● At a hotel, restaurant, shop, or taxi:
o First of all, contact the administration of the establishment (hotel reception, restaurant or shop manager) or the carrier (through customer support on the website or in the app). Often items are found and returned to their owners.
● In a public place:
o In case of loss of important documents (for example, a passport), filing a police report is mandatory, since a police report will be required to restore the documents.
