In Phuket (as in many parts of the world), New Year’s Eve is celebrated in different ways: some places are calm and relaxed, while others turn into all-night parties.
Many hotels and restaurants host gala dinners and festive programs on the evening of December 31 (usually starting around 6:00 PM), featuring elegant dinners, live music, and celebratory fireworks.
On beaches and in public areas, celebrations often begin even before sunset, with the main fireworks and the countdown to the final seconds of the year starting around midnight. After that, in popular party areas, the celebration can continue until morning. The most lively spots include:
● Patong Beach. There’s always a party atmosphere here, especially on New Year’s Eve: music, fireworks, large crowds, and a true festive vibe.
● Bangla Road. The island’s most famous party street, packed with bars and clubs where fun is guaranteed. You can easily go bar-hopping and visit several nightclubs in one evening. Many venues from this street can be found in our Nightlife section.
