Bud’s Beach Bar in Patong is a small, no‑frills beach bar where the day effortlessly slips by between the sea and the shade of an umbrella. They set up sun loungers and umbrellas, help you get comfortable, can move your umbrella as the sun shifts, and will keep an eye on your belongings while you go for a swim. The vibe is easygoing — you can come solo, as a couple, or with friends and simply hang out by the water until evening.
The menu is made for classic beach downtime: cold beer, fresh coconuts, coffee, popular cocktails, and spirits. The bar is especially known for its cocktails (including mojitos and Mai Tais). Prices vary — from very budget-friendly options to pricier drinks — which is pretty typical for a spot right on the beachfront. For food, you’ll find things like pad thai and spring rolls, and there’s also shisha. Wi‑Fi is available.
The main reason to stay is the Patong sunset: from here you get a great view of the sea, parasailing in the distance, and the evening horizon. Lounger policies can differ — sometimes ordering drinks is enough, while other times there’s a fixed rental fee (around 100–200 THB). A clean, paid restroom is around the corner (about 10 THB).
At times, Bud’s can be tricky to find: part of this stretch of beach is taken over by a large beach club blasting very loud EDM, and the bar may be closed.
