Cafe Hangover – German Bakery & Restaurant in Phuket is a small roadside spot in the Chalong area, not far from the route to the Big Buddha. It’s an easy place to stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner when you want a break from Thai food and crave classic German dishes and familiar European comfort food.

The menu features Nuremberg sausages served with sauerkraut, fried potatoes and coleslaw, Wiener schnitzel (including an option with mushroom sauce), goulash, roulades, cutlets, meatballs, and red cabbage, along with pasta and lasagna. It’s a great choice for sharing hearty meals: portions are generous, the food tastes home-style rather than overly greasy, and it’s well seasoned. For dessert, many people go for the homemade cheesecake. Delivery is also available — thin-crust pizza comes loaded with toppings, and orders typically arrive on time.

The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. Upstairs there’s a covered terrace with a view of the Big Buddha, a nice place to sit in the shade with a bit of breeze. The dining area (including the restroom) is kept clean, service is attentive and friendly, and the kitchen can often adjust dishes to your preferences. If you’re in a hurry, you can place a pre-order via WhatsApp to speed things up.

The interior is fairly simple, and it can feel a bit stuffy during the hottest hours. Some items may occasionally be unavailable (for example, certain drinks or specific breakfast ingredients). Overall, it’s a straightforward, good-value option for anyone missing the flavors of Germany.
