The waterfall is known for its picturesque surroundings. The waterfall itself is small and is surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, which is pleasant to walk amongst.
The route is suitable for those who want to escape from the heat and refresh themselves in the natural pools near the waterfalls. Both tourists and locals like to swim here. The trail starts at Kathu Falls, which consists of several cascades and pools that fill up during the rainy season. The area around the waterfall is landscaped with various ladders and bridges, you can take beautiful photos. Then you will pass through dense forests and rubber plantations, where you will observe a variety of flora and fauna, then return back to the waterfall. The hike is easy and takes about an hour.
Unlike other waterfalls in Phuket, the infrastructure around Kathu is well developed. There are cafes and souvenir shops nearby. There is a parking lot for bikes and cars not far from the waterfall, so you can get here with a rented vehicle.
