KIN CAFE.HKT in Kathu, Phuket is an intimate café designed in a Japanese minimalist style — warm wood accents, neat curtains at the entrance, plenty of greenery, and thoughtfully arranged photo spots. The space is split into several “rooms”: a main dining area plus a quieter mini–co-working zone, all air-conditioned. Outside, you’ll find tables under umbrellas, a swing, and seats overlooking a small stream and a lush green bank. There’s also a clean restroom and parking right by the entrance.
The menu focuses on drinks, pastries, and hearty meals. The standout is their freshly baked shio-pan, made on-site — you can even watch the baking through a window into the bakery. Options like shio-pan with fruit and cream or with bacon and egg make an easy breakfast. For food, they serve dishes such as curry with a cutlet, fried shrimp (batter/tempura-style), shrimp donburi, katsu, and garlic bread. Desserts include cheesecake, daifuku, and banoffee.
People come here for coffee (including V60 pour-over), cappuccinos, and sweet signature drinks like caramel macchiato, dirty coffee, matcha latte with sakura syrup, and Thai milk tea. The matcha is smooth and mellow, without grassy notes. On weekends, they sometimes host live music. Outside food isn’t allowed.
Good to know: payment is mainly cash/PromptPay — Visa and Mastercard aren’t accepted. Drinks may be served in plastic cups. In the evening, mosquito repellent is handy if you’re sitting outside, and it’s best to confirm table reservations in advance.
