MOONSTo̲̲NE Cafe over the Sea is a waterfront café in Phuket, tucked away in the Panwa / Ao Makham (Chao Koh Pier) area. You reach it by driving through the pier grounds: go all the way to the end of the large parking lot, turn right, then walk down the stairs. The café sits under the bridge right at the edge of the pier. Parking is close by, but the spot can be a little confusing to find on your first visit.
The main reason to come is the ocean view toward Tapao Yai Island. Outside, you get the sea breeze and the sound of waves, and in the evening it’s an especially easy place to unwind after a hot drive. Indoors, the atmosphere is calm, with a minimalist Korean-style interior and cool air-conditioning. There are two seating areas: an A/C room and an open-air section by the water. Seating is limited, so you may have to take whatever is available. At times, a docked ferry can block part of the view, and pier maintenance may bring some noise.
The menu covers drinks, desserts, and full meals. Coffee and matcha are standouts — their lattes, mocha, caramel macchiato, and green tea are consistently good. You’ll also find options like iced tea and even craft beer. Food-wise, people often order salads, scrambled eggs with pesto on sourdough, crudo (you can request a salmon-and-cobia mix), and fish & chips — halibut is noticeably the better choice. For dessert, there’s baked goods, red velvet cake, and Earl Grey ice cream served with shortbread.
Service is friendly, the staff speak English, and an English menu is available. Prices lean toward the tourist range: portions can feel a bit small for the cost, and a few dishes may be hit-or-miss.
