OTOP Market emerged as part of the government’s One Tambon One Product (“One District – One Product”) program, which was created to support local producers and traditional Thai crafts. Originally, visitors could genuinely discover products from different regions of the country here, but over time the market changed and became more tourist-oriented.
Today, the covered section of the complex is home to numerous retail stalls selling clothing, souvenirs, accessories, beach goods, and various replicas of well-known brands. It is difficult to call this the best shopping destination, but it is a great place for a leisurely stroll and a chance to experience the atmosphere of resort-style Phuket.
The main reason to visit is the food area located at the back of the market.
Dozens of small food stalls operate here, serving popular Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, fried seafood, grilled chicken, skewers, as well as fresh fruit and drinks.
In the evening, the market becomes more lively. Many people gather in the bar area, where they can order drinks, watch sports broadcasts, play billiards, and simply spend time in a relaxed atmosphere.
