Pakping Café & Restaurant is a new, tastefully designed spot in Rawai, set slightly back from the main road closer to the far end of the beach. It feels calm and spacious: you can sit on the terrace overlooking the forest and jungle, choose the air‑conditioned dining room, or take a table outside under the palms. There’s no sweeping sea view — the café is by the road, surrounded by greenery.
The menu focuses on Thai cuisine, with bold yet well‑balanced flavours and very fresh seafood. Food is prepared with care and served quickly. Standouts include the curries (crab, chicken panang, and sour curry), pad thai, a generously sized tom yum, moo hong, and tender braised pork. For starters, the shrimp cakes, garlic squid, and tamarind‑fried fish are especially good. You’ll also find a few familiar Western options, plus kid‑friendly choices.
Drinks are a strong reason to stop by on their own: signature cocktails, iced frappes, coconut iced coffee, mint cocoa, and other refreshing picks. Prices are still reasonable and portions are generous — often enough to share.
The staff are attentive, speak English, and are happy to help with the small details. If you’re sitting outdoors, mosquito repellent can come in handy. Practical note: payment is by cash or Thai bank cards, so it’s best to plan your payment method in advance.
