Parivar Chalong (Indian & Russian Kitchen) is a laid-back café in Phuket’s Chalong area with an unusual mix of Indian and Russian cuisine (the menu also includes Thai and European options). The space is open-air and comfortable, with shaded seating, a small pond nearby, and a poolside area. Soft music plays in the background, and it stays pleasantly cool during the day.
What sets the place apart is pool access for guests. There’s a kids’ section and a deeper area, which makes it a convenient spot for families and for celebrating small occasions. Power outlets are available at the tables as well, so it can also work as a casual place to get some laptop work done.
The Russian side of the menu features borscht (served with garlic buns), okroshka, chebureki, shrimp Olivier salad, and handmade dill dumplings (pelmeni), along with desserts like cheesecake and chocolate crepes. Indian staples are well represented too — chicken biryani, paneer butter masala, hara bhara kebab, tikka masala, naan, and masala chai — with especially generous portions for meat dishes. There are simpler choices as well, such as chicken soup and pineapple fried rice.
Service is generally friendly, though timing can vary and some items may be unavailable. A few dishes can be hit-or-miss (for example, over-dried potato pancakes or bland flatbread), and the Wi‑Fi is sometimes slow; mosquitoes can also be an issue outdoors.
