Phuket Aquarium

Phuket Aquarium is a small, easy-to-visit aquarium set in a beautiful seaside location. It’s a convenient stop if you’re already exploring the coast and nearby beaches. The atmosphere is calm and family-friendly — no big crowds, and the route is short enough to handle comfortably even with young children.

Inside, you’ll find a collection focused on Thailand’s marine life: a wide variety of fish and other aquatic creatures, including a few rarer species. The exhibits are designed to introduce visitors to local sea fauna, so the visit feels educational as well as visually engaging. Each tank has QR codes that link to an English-language audio guide with information about the animals.

One of the highlights is a small glass tunnel (around 5–6 meters long) along with a dome-shaped viewing area. If you’re lucky, you may catch a fish-feeding session, which adds some extra energy to the experience. The premises are kept clean, there’s a souvenir shop with simple but reasonably priced items, and the parking nearby is convenient.

Keep in mind that the aquarium is quite compact: you won’t find huge modern halls or major “wow” attractions like large sharks, and some sections may close temporarily for updates. On hot days it can feel stuffy inside — the cooling is limited (mostly fans; the dome area can be cooler, but not always). In a few tanks the water may look cloudy, which can reduce visibility. Tickets are typically around 300 baht, and seniors are offered free admission.
