At Phuket Siray Elephant Care Camp, there are no elephant rides or performances. Instead, you can observe their daily routines and listen to the staff share fascinating stories about the history of Thai elephants and their cultural significance.

2. Feeding & Rain Shower with Elephants (1.5–2 hours)
Guides will tell you about the cultural importance of elephants in Thailand — why they are considered sacred animals and why their protection is so vital. You’ll prepare nutritious treats, feed the elephants, and then enjoy a tropical rain shower with them! The program ends with a fruit snack at a seaside cafe.

Take a tropical outdoor shower and help the elephants care for their skin with a special scrub. Finish the day relaxing at a cafe with panoramic sea views and local treats.

What makes Siray Elephant Care Camp different from other “ethical” elephant sanctuaries in Phuket?
It is the only camp on the island where elephants bathe in the sea on their own private beach overlooking the bay. In addition, the camp has a large territory of 60 rai (about 96,000 m²), so the elephants spend most of the day roaming freely through the jungle and walking down to the water, rather than standing in enclosures.
Is it possible to join a program with no other tourists at all (a private visit)?
Yes, there is an exclusive VIP program option (up to 6 people per group). You arrive at a non-standard time (early morning or evening), get a private guide and mahout, and the elephants are exclusively yours for the entire experience.
Is it true that you can stay overnight near the elephants?
Yes. Starting in 2025, they launched the Overnight Experience: a night in a cozy bungalow on the camp grounds (with views of the elephants), dinner with the mahouts, an evening walk with the elephants, and morning feeding.
Do they have “retired” elephants that tourists don’t usually get to see elsewhere?
Yes. The camp is home to two elderly female elephants — Pang Tong (about 65 years old) and Pang Sombat (62 years old). They are fully retired and do not participate in programs, living separately in a quiet part of the jungle. However, if you are on a private program, you may quietly approach and feed them under the supervision of a mahout (no flash photography or loud noise).
Is there a transfer? How can I get there?
Yes, you can purchase tickets with a transfer included. You can also buy tickets without a transfer and get there by taxi or rented transport.
