Rawai is officially the very first beach in Phuket, but it cannot be called an ideal place for swimming due to frequent high and low tides, as well as a large number of boats in the water. However, it still remains attractive to tourists.
There are many cafes and a fish market here, where freshly caught seafood is sold. Additionally, most boats to other islands depart from here.
