Soi Nanai 2 Sauna in Phuket is a small, local Thai bathhouse set in a wooden, slightly vintage-looking space tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, far from the busy streets. Inside, it feels calm and roomy: it’s usually not crowded, and there are comfortable areas where you can lie down and cool off after steaming.
The heart of the place is a herbal steam sauna with very humid heat (not a dry “Russian-style” sauna). The steam is thick and the scent is strong — lemongrass and herbal blends create an intense aroma that can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. The steam room itself is dark and atmospheric, with soft lighting and a vibe closer to a hammam.
To cool down, there’s a pool and whirlpool/Jacuzzi tubs. You can alternate between steam and water, then relax on loungers in a light breeze. That said, the pool’s cleanliness and overall water quality could use more consistent attention: it can vary, and the water isn’t always truly cold.
Everything is straightforward. Entry is 150 THB, which includes a bottle of water and two towels, and you can stay until closing. There are changing rooms, showers, and toilets, plus a place to charge your phone. A small bar is available (tea, 3‑in‑1 coffee, and sometimes beer), and smoking is allowed. The sauna is mixed-gender and requires swimwear, so bring shorts or a swimsuit. Massages are also offered on-site (around 350 THB), and at times the main area may have loud music playing.
