A small Thavorn Museum on Phuket in Phuket Town in the lobby of the Thavorn Hotel in the Old Town offers a tour of a collection of antiques and vintage items. Numerous antique items, including traditional Chinese wedding headdresses, tin mining equipment, toy trains, pillows and beds for opium smoking, as well as vintage photographs collected by a Thai-Chinese family that owns the Thavorn hotel chain.
The history of Phuket is shown here through the prism of an influential Chinese immigrant and his family, who managed many enterprises in the region. The museum on Phuket consists of several halls and involves independent study of the exhibits without a guide. Drop by here as you stroll through the Old Town to make the atmosphere even more authentic. How to get to the Thavorn Museum can be found on the website.
