Kalim Rimlay Restaurant sits on the shoreline of Kalim Beach, just outside Patong, and its biggest draw is the row of bamboo pavilions right at the water’s edge. Here you can hear the waves, watch crabs scuttle over the rocks, spot birds nearby, and the steady ocean breeze takes the edge off the heat. It’s especially atmospheric in the evening, when sunsets over Kalim Beach set the scene for dinner and photos — and you can walk down to the beach directly from the restaurant.

The kitchen offers a fully halal menu focused on Thai favorites and seafood. Standouts include tom yum, green curry, garlic sea bass, grilled seafood (prawns, squid, crab), and flame-grilled beef. Portions are often generous and can easily feed 2–3 people, making it a good place to order several dishes to share; leftovers can be packed to take away. Popular drinks include coconut water, lemon sodas, and fresh shakes — watermelon is a particularly refreshing choice in the heat. Alcohol isn’t served, and cashless payments are available, including Alipay and other e-wallet options.

Service is friendly, though during busy periods it can be slower and less attentive, and some dishes may taste simpler than expected. Prices tend to be above average for the area, but the setting and laid-back seaside experience help justify the cost. Parking along the main road is limited, so arriving by scooter is often the easiest option.
