Sangchai is a secluded beach hidden in the jungle. This tiny stretch of coastline is framed by rocks and lush vegetation on both sides, but its inaccessibility has its advantages β even during the high season, youβll find very few people here.
The beach has fine white sand and a gentle entrance into the water. There are many corals and rocks along the shore, so itβs best to swim during high tide, when part of the seabed is covered. However, Sangchai is great for snorkeling β near the rocks on the left side, youβll find plenty of fish. There are also charming little residents β hermit crabs scurrying across the sand β there are hundreds of them! The sea in the bay is usually calm, making the beach suitable for swimming even in the low season.
Sangchai Beach is located in the Rawai area. Weβve gathered all the best places of this district here: https://phuket-insider.com/en/region/rawai/
Thereβs a small cafe on site where you can grab a snack or a refreshing drink (though itβs closed during the low season). For photos, there are hammocks and swings. Nothing more β just the sea, sand, and solitude.
How to get there: first, youβll drive along a dirt road (be careful during the rainy season β it can get washed out), then youβll reach private property where youβll need to pay an entrance fee of 20 baht, and after that, descend a concrete staircase to the beach itself. Thereβs a paid parking lot near the beach that costs 90 baht.
Sangchai Beach is prized for its wild, untouched atmosphere without tourists. Itβs an ideal place for a photoshoot or a quiet retreat into nature.
