A unique museum of the history of the Chinese diaspora, founded back in 1934. The two-story building is an example of Sino-Portuguese architecture. It was originally the first and only school in the province.
The ground floor explores the life of Chinese settlers in Phuket and their cultural traditions. They played an important role in tin mining, which became a major source of wealth for the local communities💎
The galleries on the second floor tell the story of Chinese immigrants, famous and influential families.
Particularly valuable exhibits include historical photographs, a typewriter with the Chinese alphabet and a room dedicated to tin mining.
The museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm. All descriptions are in Chinese, Thai and English.
We recommend taking a guided tour for a more informative visit to the museum. The tour is conducted in Thai and English.
