TOP 5 Restaurants in Surin

Surin is a district that’s gaining popularity among tourists. It’s chosen for its picture-perfect island scenery: a well-kept white-sand beach, crystal-clear sea, a relaxed holiday atmosphere, and a high concentration of quality venues right by the coast. We’ve put together the top 5 restaurants in Surin — places worth visiting for beautiful dinners, vibrant flavors, and the true resort experience.

1. The Smokaccia Laboratory

Working hours: Mon 18:00 - 21:00; Thu - Sun: 18:00 - 21:00
Website | Instagram

A unique venue featured in the Michelin Guide and ranked among the top 25 best on Phuket — so we simply couldn’t leave it out of our top 5. This place is guaranteed to become your ultimate food discovery!

At The Smokaccia Laboratory, there is no à la carte menu — only a unique 18-course tasting experience crafted by Italian chef Luca Mascolo. The set costs 6,500 baht. Yes, it’s not the most budget-friendly dinner option, but trust us — it’s absolutely worth it.

Chef Luca Mascolo creates true masterpieces from simple, clean, and sustainably sourced ingredients. The unique “Smokaccia” bread alone is something special — honestly, this single dish could earn the chef a culinary Oscar (if such a thing existed, of course). The bread is served with a selection of sauces: homemade cold-pressed olive oil, Italian homemade sugar-free ketchup with white balsamic vinegar and basil, a 6-year-aged balsamic cream, and Bologna mortadella whipped into a delicate foam… it sounds like a symphony!

Dining at The Smokaccia Laboratory is a show that lasts around three hours. We won’t reveal all the details — it’s best experienced firsthand. Unique ingredient combinations come together to create an incredible harmony of flavors. And if you love wine, you’ll truly appreciate the perfect pairing of high-end Italian wines with the chef’s signature dishes.

The Smokaccia Laboratory is a venue for special occasions, and a “proper” dress code is requested. Try to skip flip-flops, tank tops, and shorts for the evening. You’ll still be allowed in, of course, but such attire may disrupt the elegant atmosphere.

2. Nama

Japanese cuisine is a philosophy in which every ingredient reveals its natural beauty. It’s built on freshness, seasonality, and minimal processing. If you truly appreciate authentic Japanese cuisine, welcome to the restaurant Nama.

The word nama translates from Japanese as “raw”. The Nama restaurant is rooted in the tradition of washoku — a Japanese culinary tradition recognized by UNESCO, where attention to ingredients, technique, and presentation elevates gastronomy to the level of art. The menu is centered around refined sushi and sashimi that highlight the purity and freshness of each ingredient.

The head chef’s main secret at Nama lies in the ability to enhance every component of a dish to achieve a pure, perfectly balanced flavor. Classic sushi and sashimi, edamame, tartare, and rolls — the menu isn’t large, but every dish is thought through down to the smallest detail.

In addition, the restaurant offers an omakase experience — a chance to witness the art of sushi in its purest form and place your full trust in the chef. Guided by skilled masters, you’ll see how handcrafted sushi comes to life: from careful ingredient selection and precise rice preparation to the delicate, perfectly executed slicing of fish. Here, every detail matters, and the cooking process becomes part of the gastronomic experience.

The restaurant’s design was created in collaboration with architect Kengo Kuma. It’s a harmonious blend of contemporary style and Japanese elegance: izakaya-style seating, an omakase counter, and a sake bar.

Nama is a high-end establishment with exceptional service. It’s an ideal place to invite business partners for a daytime meeting or celebrate an important occasion at sunset in the evening. The views from the restaurant are absolutely stunning!

3. Wagyu Steakhouse

Another Japanese restaurant whose signature feature is premium wagyu steaks.

The restaurant sources its unique wagyu beef from leading farms around the world. The meat is expertly prepared in a Josper charcoal oven, ensuring perfect doneness and sealing in the juices — this steak quite literally melts in your mouth.

The menu here is truly first-class: tartare, a selection of steaks, other refined dishes and seafood, along with wines highly rated by critics. The pairing is sure to be top-notch!

The restaurant’s visual design also deserves special mention — it’s intimate and elegant. Wagyu Steakhouse isn’t an everyday spot, but a place for special occasions and business meetings.

4. Beach Restaurant by The Surin Phuket

If you love the atmosphere of a beachfront restaurant but don’t want to compromise on service or flavor, Beach Restaurant by The Surin Phuket is the place to go. Located within The Surin hotel, this restaurant has it all: a stunning seaside setting, refined Thai cuisine, and high-end service.

Only locally sourced ingredients are used to create the dishes at Beach Restaurant by The Surin Phuket. You might even spot one of the chefs at the market, selecting fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables.

There is an à la carte menu, but we recommend trying the tasting set to fully enjoy classic Thai cuisine in the chef’s signature interpretation.

The restaurant often hosts various culinary events, such as romantic beachfront dinners, Thai buffets, or beach barbecues. So a visit here can be not only enjoyable, but also truly memorable and out of the ordinary.

5. Millionaire Burgers

Fine dining is great, of course, but sometimes you just want a really satisfying meal without any extra fuss. For that, Millionaire Burgers is the perfect choice. This modern cafe with panoramic windows and a terrace is located in the Surin Beach area.

The menu features million-dollar burgers! Be sure to try the signature Millionaire Burger with a 150-gram beef patty. Or perhaps you’ll prefer the Pablo Escobar burger with bacon, or the Leonardo da Vinci with falafel?

What should you wash it down with? Soda, juice, sparkling water, or beer. Everything is classic — no unnecessary experiments. Juicy burgers plus a fizzy drink are a match made somewhere in heaven.
