Motorbike in Phuket without Russian license: what are consequences?
Insider's Response
To legally ride a motorbike in Phuket, you need an international driver’s license with category A. If you only have a Russian license without an international version, it is officially invalid. If the police stop you, the fine is usually around 500 THB, but in case of an accident, the consequences can be more serious — insurance may not cover your expenses. Plus, you’ll have to pay the rental company where you rented the scooter. Don’t forget about personal insurance either. Medical care in Thailand is expensive, so it’s best to be prepared in advance.

And if you want to have financial support in case of unforeseen circumstances, we recommend purchasing a life insurance policy. This will provide you with additional protection during your stay in Thailand.
