Ember Steakhouse in Phuket is a two-storey beachfront restaurant set in a prime spot next to the local beach clubs. Downstairs you’ll find an air-conditioned dining room, while the upper level offers a covered terrace and lounge with sweeping sea views — especially beautiful at sunset. Seating is generous, and the interior leans industrial, softened by warm lighting and leather armchairs.

The kitchen’s real highlight is its steaks and expertly cooked meats, consistently delivered to the requested doneness: tomahawk, ribeye, Australian Angus tenderloin, wagyu, and T-bone. The menu goes well beyond steakhouse staples, too — think braised beef cheeks, lamb tagliatelle, burrata pizza, burgers, and a strong seafood selection ranging from scallops with miso corn butter to hamachi crudo and prawns. Sides and sauces are thoughtfully designed — corn ribs, truffle mash, and other add-ons that round everything out into a cohesive, well-balanced plate.

The bar deserves special mention: cocktails are precise, creative, and well executed, with good non-alcoholic options as well. For dessert, there’s cheesecake (including a “burnt”/double-baked version), chocolate-based treats, and a lava cake served with ice cream.

Service is polished and discreet — staff are happy to guide you through the menu, and the chef may even stop by to recommend dishes personally. It works equally well for a date night or a family dinner, with a kids’ menu and comfortable high chairs available. A couple of things to keep in mind: during peak hours the pace of service can become less consistent, and pricing is closer to European levels — noticeably above the Thai average.
