Kinnita Restaurant in Phuket is a garden oasis filled with animals and artful details, where dinner naturally turns into a leisurely stroll. The grounds are lush and well cared for: chickens and rabbits wander around, there are goats and turtles, koi carp are fed in the pond, and a buffalo lives in an enclosure. Inside, the space feels clean, cozy, and delightfully unconventional — guests often remember the black‑and‑white “sketch” dining room, the wall paintings, and the many quirky decorative touches. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes especially romantic.

The menu is Thai, with an emphasis on homestyle presentation and bold flavors. Expect fragrant curries, Tom Yum, rice-based soups like Mee Sua, spicy pad krapao for heat lovers, and fresh fish available on request. The pad thai is a standout: made with fresh shrimp and a well-balanced sauce. Desserts and drinks stay true to Thai classics too — mango sticky rice, banana sweets, and mango shakes. Portions are generous, ingredients are high quality, vegetarian and vegan options are available, and the spice level can be adjusted.

Service is casual and straightforward: you place your order at the counter using a number, and dishes may arrive at different times. During peak hours — especially when the kitchen is busy with hotel guests’ orders — wait times can be longer, which is a good excuse to explore the grounds. The restaurant is located next to Nonnita Boutique Hotel/Resort, and hours can be inconsistent, so it’s worth checking in advance whether they’re open that day. There are small activities for kids, and adults can join Thai cooking classes.
